Procedure info

Knowing what happens at each stage helps ease anxiety and makes the day feel more manageable.

1

Before arrival

You will have followed the prep checklist and clear-liquid diet. Arrive on time with your Medicare Card, Health Insurance Details, a current medication list, and a ride home.

2

During the exam

You will receive sedation to keep you comfortable. The procedure typically takes 20–30 minutes, and you will rest briefly afterward.

3

After care

You will need a ride home. Most people resume normal activities the next day. Your doctor will share results and follow-up plans.

Please read these instructions carefully and follow your prep instructions as detailed

Fasting for the full window is the most important step for a safe and thorough gastroscopy. Follow the instructions above as detailed unless your Doctor or the staff at the clinic advise other instructions.
